I would say that Reala is more of an antagonist than evil. Since Reala is in the way of NiGHTS' goal of defeating Wizeman.

Of course, NiGHTS could be an antagonist if the story of NiGHTS into Dreams switched perspectives. Since Reala wants to protect Wizeman from harm, and NiGHTS is the one trying to kill Wizeman.

So I guess it is all in point of view.

Reala is the Knight since he is so cool. Wizeman is the King obviously. and Jackle is... close the adviser because of the tarot cards.
