Vocaloid Discussion

I'm sure some of you guys have heard of these musicians while searching through Youtube videos. Of course, most people would often confuse these particular musicians with characters from anime (despite a few of them getting cameos in at least one anime), but that's probably because of all of the anime videos floating on the internet nowadays. Anywho, Miku Hatsune is probably the most famous of these artists, appearing in video games, anime, and even singing the songs that are featured in various Youtube memes (most well known meme her voice can be heard being the Leekspin meme (her cover for the Ievan Polka is almost always the one that's playing)), but there are others as well, like the Kagamine Twins (Rin and Len) and Luka Megurine (who is currently the only known bi-lingual of the group), that have also reached their way to stardom because of their works on NicoNico Douga and Youtube. There is this one catch, though, they're not even real singers; they're part of a computer program known as Vocaloid, which allows users to work with various voicebanks to create wondrous songs (or covers of songs).
This thread is for discussing all things Vocaloid and Utau, but please try not to start a flame war here (Forum rules still apply here). Also, just so you guys know, Utau and Vocaloid are two very seperate entities entirely (unless you count Utauloids, which are fanmade Vocaloids created via Utau) and shouldn't be confused for each other.
