TRS Takes on SOPA/PIPA

Update: As of 1/24/2012, SOPA has been tabled (not shot down unfortunately) as has PIPA.
So we managed to show the US government that that sort of Big Brother censorship won't be tolerated - but they still want to push for it sometime later when they think we'll be less angry...

Please keep an eye out so that we can be there to say "Yes, we still hate the idea" if and when it comes up again.


Now, I am not the most eloquent person. Even when I believe in something with all my heart, I often cannot express myself well.
But I do believe that the proposed bill would punish innocent internet users more than those responsible for copyright infringements.

If this passes, many of the sites that we all enjoy would not be able to function as they do now.
And if censored content is posted to a site, the site owner, not the one who posted the material, could be punished.

We at TRS oppose SOPA/PIPA and urge you to make your voices heard as well.

Nice to see a lot of my favorite series is against this such as TRS and ThatGuyWithTheGlasses. I've been supporting the fight against SOPA and PIPA since last year when I first heard it.

Showed My support against these bills on Twitter, Thanks to to the Wikipedia Blackout page. I Tweeted My Plea to stop this bill to all of the Senators in my Area. Alot of places on the net that i visit alot are doing this Protest too, I have noticed.

It's no wonder, every fan site, art site, fanfic site, or anything at all that uses content belonging to others will be affected if this passes.
Any site that doesn't want to shut down or lose its freedom to continue as it has until now, has no choice but to protest.

NiGHTSintoDreams.com is among those sites that we will lose if PIPA passes!
So tweet, email, telephone, write, and update your site statuses to show that a PIPA censored internet is no place that you want to be!

Well Silk, Looks like TRS has another threat to the internet to combat. Megaupload was destroyed because of it.

DR, please don't try to raise a stink over a new issue, even if it is a similar problem, this is not what this topic is for.
I am aware of the issue, as are many others.

And please don't link to so many videos, especially when several of them are the same person.

When I find a calm, rational video explaining the matter I will share it.
This does affect us since the "Make Your Own TRS Episode" clip was hosted on Megaupload.

But we don't want videos of people acting like they can accomplish anything through having a panic attack. It makes them look bad for losing control of themselves and it makes us look bad for linking it.
