Re: Cornsilk's Journal

Post  Cornsilk on Tue May 31, 2011 10:54 am

So in addition to the creep who spammed my unrelated videos to whine about a supposed lack of updates (The Easter special wasn't that long ago!), some jerk has now posted a second rant in which they also complained about a lack of updating.

This is probably going to come as a complete shock, but I don't want to put my time and energy into the kind of people who whine and rant about my work.
Call me crazy, but it's not very motivational when people are so negative about something that I do out of kindness.

if i don't start getting some support soon, I'm seriously considering stopping the series. It's clearly generating more complaints than smiles lately.

Okay, wow.
So someone (who I won't name) thought it was okay to go through all of my old videos and post random comments in them, which yes, is spamming my videos.
So I went in and started disabling comments. And suddenly I get a big public complaint on my profile!

Wow, if this harassment is how you help, then how do you attack someone?

If anyone has a question, here's a revolutionary new concept - why don't you ask me?
You know, send me a PM here on the forum?

Because this attitude has me not wanting to even think about the show. I'm getting nothing but grief because of it!
Trolling me isn't going to get you anything.

Wow, no one reads my journals apparently. Or past entries or announcements.

Way to go, harassing and whining at me is totally going to inspire me to do what you want... not!

Read my previous post and if you have questions, check the announcements section.

I'm putting the series on hiatus until i see an improvement in the general attitude regarding the show.

Let's put it this way... when you have a project to do, are you more likely to do it if:
A: People nag and whine and complain at you, in public?
or
B: People patiently offer words of encouragement before subsiding and waiting for you to be ready?

If it's not clear, A is what I keep getting from the vocal viewers.

Wow... the rumors are flying and people are actually believing them.
If it's not in the forum's announcements, then it's not official. It's that simple. Go read the current announcements, you'll see.

Guys, I'm avoiding the "fandom" until this kind of negativity dies down. The series is not formally on hiatus, but I'm not going to make a video if I'm going to get a lot of griping for it.

Go watch the series on blip.tv and get it some more views. It's the best way to help the series.

Please guys, just try to be more positive and give me a break!
I'll feel more motivated when I stop getting moaned at for doing a show for free, for you.
I don't get anything back for it, i don't even get fanmail telling me that my work is appreciated.
I just get moaned at and nagged if I dare to go a couple weeks without a new video.

So please let up and show me some encouragement and positivity.
The moaning has to stop!

Everyone, the reason that we have an Announcements section is so that everyone can stay up to date on what's happening to the show without me having to answer the same question multiple times.

If you see anyone elsewhere acting confused and asking about the show, please direct them to the TRS forum's announcements section.

All of the confusion happening right now is due to people who failed to stay up to date with the TRS announcements. All of the disappointment and negativity could be avoided if everyone would just go read what's happening with the series.

Once more just to make sure it sticks: Announcements Section. ReeSad NiGHTS Sweatdrop

That was an odd post NiGHTS just put up. I guess it can be attributed to grogginess though? (S)he did get up unusually early this afternoon, after all...

Just to be safe though, would everyone please monitor NiGHTS' activity tonight and tomorrow, just to be sure there isn't some other reason?

I'm not seeing NiGHTS...
I hope that someone's reading these journals, we could really use some viewers helping here!

The Nightmaren usually rest in my closet during the day, and when I checked, I found Reala, Clawz, Jackle, and part of Puffy. No NiGHTS.

Again, please keep an eye out. If you notice anything unusual, start a thread in the TRS section to discuss. Maybe together you can all help me figure out what's going on with NiGHTS!

We seem to be down to only three active members, four if you count me.

I'm starting to think that NiGHTS' disappearance is somehow related to the lack of activity...

I had an odd dream last night, and it was about TRS.
That's odd since I don't usually dream about the show...

It was some kid giving me a hard time and me having to prove that I'm really the one who makes the show.
Odd, huh?

Phew, NiGHTS' avatar is back!
I think that the forum was just acting up yesterday, which was really bad timing. But it seems to be working now.

NiGHTS' avatar seems to have degenerated slightly, though... oh dear!

The members here don't seem to be interested in making things right, most won't even sign in anymore.
So I guess it's up to me... even if it risks the show.

Edit:
Rather than respectfully appealing the decision to ban him, the user known as "Reala's Biggest Fan" chose instead to let his temper run away with him, and spam the latest video comments. He has been blocked as well as banned, and will not be returning now.

I guess it's too hard for him to just put some effort into fixing his attitude.

Edit2:

Interesting. We're getting lurkers from other countries now. The timing's odd, I wonder if someone's trying to get their buddies to come give us a hard time?
I expect better, but those types who can't control their tempers are also the types who sic their buddies on whoever they're unhappy with.
It's very petty and ineffective, but only time will let them learn and mature.

It doesn't matter anyway, even if it does come to that, it won't last. It never does. Smile

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What a terrible scene to come back to! We all know who I'm referring to, when I say that that member's appallingly bad behavior has me thoroughly disgusted.
Clearly, they were only here to cause trouble, since even a toddler could follow our forum rules. They're pretty simple.
A huge apology goes out to Shany, for the way she was treated by this awful person. The offender has been banned and will not be returning.
I am also disgusted with the way that other members have wrongly accused newer members, for no reason other than that they were new.
But apologies were made, so I am letting it go.
I do expect a better attitude from here on, though. You're all thinking people, not a bunch of squealing 2 year olds.
I know that you're capable of acting in a mature, respectful manner, and I expect nothing less from you all.
Still no suggestions, and the forum's like a ghost town. Apparently, everyone's ditched us except for those two or three people I keep mentioning.
To be perfectly honest, that's pathetic. Shame on you people who left, it's your fault that the event hasn't reached its conclusion yet.
I just went up to the loft, following Eclipse's suggestion to use my EMF detector to look for ghosts. That video will be up soon.
I really hope that we get some active participants soon, though!
Even the people coming on haven't been able to suggest anything more than vague concepts.
Look around the property... okay fine. Look where exactly on the property?
You all know what the property looks like by now. Go to that event thread and make with the suggestions!
Yeesh, my power gets knocked out for a week and I get accused of abandoning the site. If these are the fans, I wonder how bad the haters can possibly be?
In short guys, life stinks right now. I've suffered a very upsetting loss, will probably have to deal with another soon, and the storm destroyed a lot of my trees. I was extremely lucky that the chicken coops didn't get crushed!
The dog run fence did though, so it was just as well that there were no dogs to use it...
But seriously, does it really need to be said that I expect you guys to give me a break?
Even if you don't follow me on other sites, I know that you all go to my youtube page, and my profile has important announcements whenever I have electricity to update with.
I shouldn't have to explain everything all over again, just because some people refuse to look for themselves.
I'm pretty disappointed with everyone.
Everyone has abandoned the show except for two or three people, and none of them are doing anything other than signing in!
Come on guys, give me some directions. Someone or something kidnapped the cast and we need to find them.
Now help me figure out where they're hidden so that we can save them and get the show going again!
Well, you can't say I didn't try.
But the show has no active followers anymore, and even the two or three people still visiting the forum no longer post anything. I've checked in for the past few days and nothing.
All but the event topic have been abandoned, which says a lot. And now even the event has been forgotten.
I'm afraid that's it for TRS, not even enough interest for a farewell Christmas special. Sad
But if people don't enjoy it anymore, I can't do anything about that. It's just time to move on.
I hope that everyone enjoyed it while it lasted. Feel free to make your own episodes with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jVXRL5IyyI
Re: Cornsilk's Journal
Still disappointed with people. I checked in and I was greeted with negativity.
Moaning about the lack of activity instead of being active, for example... Post!
If you're not contributing, why should anyone else?
And not one person has used the "Make Your Own Reala Show" clip, which I'm even more disappointed about.
I'm not seeing any evidence that anyone cares about the show, so I'm not going to waste my time and energy filming something that isn't enjoyed.
If I see any more negative moaning, I'm going to just remove those topics.
Keep up the moaning if you hate TRS.
If you give it love I'll give you more, but moan about it and I'll keep scrapping it.
So if the question is: "Why is nobody here active?!"
The answer is: I don't know... why aren't you?
I'm going into the Nightmarens' accounts, to check for any odd PM activity and such.
Nobody get excited when you see them online, it's just me.
I'm trying to make videos, but moviemaker just refuses to work, I can't even import videos. I'll keep trying...
Edit:
Okay, so every cast member had some spammy PMs in their boxes but nothing that struck me as suspicious.
Though to the member who asked everyone to visit their site, that's kind of impossible since you forgot to provide a link to it...
Make with the positive thinking, everyone!
I'm trying really hard to stay cheerful and excited about the holiday, but I have to admit to being a little depressed.
This is my first Christmas in about 12 years without my dog, so it feels very strange.
And someone sent in an order form for my plush business. I really hope they're not expecting to buy a Christmas gift... D:
My puppy is taking most of my time up, and I'm afraid to bring the cats out while she's in this mouthy phase. Seriously, the things that this baby puts in her mouth never cease to amaze me! I took a piece of dirt from her today...
But yeah, busy busy!
Probably won't have a TRS clip for a while. My nephew will be born very soon and I'm currently unable to sleep, waiting for that phone call!
After that, I will of course be volunteering to assist my sister in law however I can.
Gotta do more sewing, too. Once I have time, I really should make my baby nephew a stuffed Shleep... or maybe a Snip? Eh, Shleep's more cuddly and baby friendly.
(In my Baby Nightmaren fic, NiGHTS had a plush Snip though...)
Re: Cornsilk's Journal
There are times when I'm genuinely baffled as to how to take what people type in their comments.
This last one was making very immature mistakes like "you shud" Does he really think that that is how you spell "should?" or is he just being ignorant or worse, does he actually think that's cool to mistype?
Though since this kid also thinks that NiGHTS wants to get Reala eaten by the dog, and wants me to make a playthrough of JoD and a NiGHTS movie, I'm inclined to just not take him seriously at all.
After all, anyone who's actually paid attention knows that I wasn't enamored with Journey of Dreams, aside from the attention it paid to some basic dream concepts. The dreamers being called "Visitors" for example.
That goes way back to the original game. In the Japanese booklet, Wizeman was described as "a visitor without Ideya."
But I digress.
When someone is that ignorant and making no attempt at all to educate themself, I'm just going to assume their either trying to be a bratty troll, or they really do mean well and just have some mental condition.
Either way, I'm not taking any of those requests or comments seriously.
The reason why you're not seeing as much of me lately is that I am completely swamped!
Between my puppy's many needs and her training, and my stray cat friend being hurt, and my plush commissions I owe people, and my job, and the chickens, and the repairs needed on the coops and chicken fence, and the aquarium filter being broken, and me being on constant standby to help with my baby nephew, and my closets needing to be organized, and the woods needing to be cleaned up, and trying to squeeze in time to sneak out briefly so that I don't go insane from it all... I just have no free time Razz
But yes, I still exist. Unfortunately, so does real life.
So, since when is it too much to ask that people just say Happy Anniversary?
All that I asked for was a note with those two words, and not one person did even that much.
In fact, only one of our members (you can probably guess who) cared enough to submit anything at all.
We have five days left, but in my experience, nobody ever delivers anything that close to the deadline.
Guys, I need you to put at least a lazy half asleep effort. A pm with "Happy Anniversary" in it.
If you can't be bothered to take the ten seconds to do that, think of the message that you're sending me.
"This show isn't worth my time, I don't care or want to be a part of it."
Come on, why are you even here if you can't put even the smallest amount of energy into participating? Why should I bother if only one person cares?
Participants will be thanked by the cast in the upcoming special, and those who are not named will stick out.
Don't stick out. Take the ten seconds to say "Happy Anniversary" in a note.
Re: Cornsilk's Journal
Post  Cornsilk on Sat Feb 25, 2012 9:50 am
Weird, Reala posted a whole video explaining why you're not supporting the forum if all you do is talk and never act on it.
And I'm still getting comments saying they support TRS, when the commenters never take it past the comment - and thus, never actually support the show.
Believe me, I'm the first to recognize that TRS just isn't worth the effort.
But please do everyone a favor and stop lying.
if you're not posting on the forum (and that means in more than one or two threads!) or advertising or replying to the series with your own videos, or in some way actually taking some action to help TRS out - you are not supporting TRS, and don't really have the right to say that you are.
Reala said it very clearly and it went in one ear and out the other, evidently.
Also, please don't tell me that you're sending something if you're not. The last special was delayed and ended up not happening because I waited on a submission that was promised and never delivered.
When you promise what you aren't going to deliver, or say that you're supporting when you're not taking action, I'm sorry but you're being a liar and that can only hurt TRS.
It's clear that nobody enjoys the series, since nobody even posts on the forum (again, I mean the entire forum, not just one or two threads!)
Please don't harm the show any further by being dishonest. Either take action to support the show, or post actively, or whatever.
But I'm not here to do it all by myself. It's your job to keep this forum active, not mine.
I just monitor the activity level here to determine when the next short should be and what it should be about.
If nobody's going to come here or post or at least link to whatever action they've taken, it does us no good.
In short - I don't care if you don't like the series enough to help it. Just don't lie and say that you're helping the show when you're not.
Not that anyone will pay attention to any of this, no one ever does.
