Musical Theater
Well, as suggested by Reala, I have made a thread about Musical Theater such as The Phantom of the Opera.
Yet I didn't want to narrow it down to just Phantom, there are plenty of other good ones out there too! Such as Wicked, Hairspray and Les Miserables!
I know that some of us secretly like to sing songs from our favorite musicals, I know that I do!
Come on guys, lets discuss the stage performances of music!

Re: Musical Theater
I actually meant to make a thread specifically about the real life Phantom of the Opera, but whatever...

I've seen Les Miserables on video once and heard songs of them many times. By video I mean video of the actual stage performance in London, I think. One of the songs I like the most is Master of the House because it's catchy.

Ooh, I like Wicked! I also like Cats, but Silk says that stopped playing. She says she's going to let me watch her video of it though. I haven't really seen many others. What's the other Silk likes? Lay Misrab?

Re: Musical Theater
It sounds that way NiGHTS, but it's spelled Les Miserables.
Phantom of the Opera is my all time favorite, though. I love the way fiction is intertwined with actual history, and the story and music are so powerful.
I also like Evita. Actually, I like most of Andrew Lloyd Webber's works.

I think I may want to see the stage production of the Lion King but I'm not sure if I want to.
Oh I also saw We will rock you last time I was in London.

Re: Musical Theater
Oh man, I've just looked up the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, with the name: "Love Never Dies." I may say, that the music is okay. Although there is an undead organ playing robot gorilla in the musical, it maybe out of place, but awesome.
Still, my favorites would be the original Phantom of the Opera, or Spamalot. Then again, sequels are never as good as the original, and I would type from experience.

The Phantom of the Opera has a sequel, Pickle? I wonder if Silk knows! Is this a live musical or a video?

Re: Musical Theater
Lover Never Dies is a live musical, I don't know how long it was playing, but I found a review of the play online.
Not too many fans of The Phantom of the Opera wanted this sequel, since the ending is perfect as the original presented itself. Especially on how ridiculous Love Never Dies makes itself to be.
But you can look up, "Love Never Dies" online, I know that I am telling the truth.

Re: Musical Theater
Um, didn't the Phantom die in the original? It's not a spoiler if the majority of the population knows how it turned out, if you ask me!
I don't see how a sequel would work. It sounds like Fanfiction: The Musical!

Re: Musical Theater
Well, Love Never Dies is based on a published fanfiction named: The Phantom of Manhattan, so you are correct Reala.
Also, I may say that the end of the first Musical is up for theories. The Phantom just disappears under a piece of cloth, and then Meg finds his mask. The Phantom might of died, yet he could be hiding or something completely different.

Re: Musical Theater
I'm... correct? Oh voids, I did not want to be correct about that...
The book is quite clear about the Phantom's fate, so I reject the sequel as anything other than bad fanfiction. Next the Phantom will secretly be one of the sailor senshi...

Well, The Phantom does dress a lot like Tuxedo Mask...
Yet trying to get back to the thread's topic, does anyone know that there is a series of Sailor Moon Musicals?

Re: Musical Theater
Thank you, Jackle...
But yes, I have a Sera Myu video. It's raw though, which means there are no subtitles. I need to find a transcript to read along with it, but first I need to convert it to dvd.
I actually was involved in a fan-based project once, but it was canceled because the person was running two at once and felt the other was making more progress. But I have some music from various Sailor Moon musicals left over from it. They're pretty decent.

Re: Musical Theater
Why has no one mentioned The Rocky Horror Picture Show?
Certainly, it is not for children... but the majority of it is quite fun, and the songs are catchy.
Silk, Musashi... I know that the two of you appreciate it!

It's just a jump to the left... XD
I did before my computer crash, Spyn. I still have it on a CD someplace so I can recover it as soon as I find out where I stored that.

Can you copy it for me if/when you find it?

I'll email it.
I'd love to see Phantom again... it's just so thrilling.
I like most Andrew Loyd Webber soundtracks.

Re: Musical Theater
Thriller definitely counts, since it's a short film where the acting leads into musical numbers. Ghosts is another, although not as well known.
Heh, we like MJ too...
Pretty much every Disney movie ever was a musical!
