The Secret Santa Exchange
Yeah, we've done this in the past and it turned out well. You all have not been participating in the show for some time and I want that to change now!
So here is how this works:
You sign up for this project either by commenting below or by sending a note to any admin. That's me, NiGHTS, or Silk.
We will pair you up with another participant once we have enough entries.
Without signing your name, you will then draw a gift for the person you are assigned to. I don't care if you open MSPaint and draw a very bad stick person, but you will gift something to your assigned target!
Failure to gift anything will result in that person being banned from future events.
We don't need any scrooges hurting anyone's feelings just because they're too lazy to scribble something for this event.
At the end of the event, everyone gets to try to guess who their Santa was. There is no prize for guessing correctly, it's just for fun.
Don't let anyone know that you were their Santa until after the art is posted.
Simple enough, right? So who here's a Jolly Santa and who's a Grinchy Scrooge?

Re: The Secret Santa Exchange
Yes, I want to see many of you participating in the Secret Santa!
I won't set a deadline for entering since we want as many people as possible, but let's just say that once everyone's signed up and partnered with their target, that art must be turned in by December 20th. I may let a few later entries slip in after but no promises!
And nobody likes a victim, so please no "My art sucks!" whining and excuses. As Reala pointed out, we're looking for any image, whether it's good or not.
I won't accept "I can't draw!" as an excuse for anyone not to be a part of this community event!
You're all awesome and I won't stop liking whatever you come up with - deal with it!
So have a little faith in yourself and sign up for the Secret Santa event ASAP!

I need to clarify something, 'cause a certain resident maren believes that there is writing involves when in fact said point was not made clear in his/her post.
Can one give writing as gifts?

Re: The Secret Santa Exchange
It's traditional to submit a drawing and that is what we encourage, but any format is fine.
It's more important to get more than two people involved in this, so if you don't feel like scribbling a doodle for someone, just do whatever comes naturally.
Keep it clean and friendly, of course.

Of course. This is a family-friendly site, after all.
Now I have to work on an idea! =D

Re: The Secret Santa Exchange
Nope, not yet!
You're going to make it for whoever you get paired with. So hold off until you know who's getting it. The whole point is to make it special for that person!
At the end of the event, they will try to guess who their present came from.

Re: The Secret Santa Exchange
We need more than three participants, people! Don't be a Grinch or Scrooge!
Everyone who participates gets a present, which will most likely be a picture but could also be music, audio, crafts, and writing created by your assigned Santa!
If anyone Grinches out and fails to deliver, I'll take over and give something to their assigned elf for them - but that person will then be banned from any future events. We do not let our friends down on this forum!
Now let's get active! Be a part of the community and participate in the gift exchange!

C'mon, peoples! Let's try to put a little more effort into this. It's the holidays! It's freakin' Christmas! You know, the season of giving?

Re: The Secret Santa Exchange
Exactly, Spyn!
I'm not happy with the selfish nature of our forum members. You'll all come online when there's a present for you, but if I'm asking you to do something nice for someone else, only three people are willing to be social?
And I've removed the last few posts since they were not related to this event.
Only post here if you are participating in the exchange!

Re: The Secret Santa Exchange
All the current participants have now been given their assignments.
Remember to keep your identity secret so that your assigned friend doesn't know it's you!
Any late comers are also welcome to join in if you think you can make a gift in time!
