(okay, I fail at thinking of titles of topics)

Is anyone else here a fan of the series? Here's a place where fellow Ouendan and EBA fans can discuss various things about the games, give their own opinions about stuff, and even think up of very insane scenarios with other fans of what might have happened after the games or during the games' timelines (this may or may not include crossovers). Just so you guys know, this is not a thread for debating weather Ouendan is better than EBA or vice-versa. The games are practically one in the same since EBA is technically a spiritual sequel to Ouendan and (more or less) is a localized version of the Ouendan series to those outside of Japan, and I really don't want any flame wars-or anything similar to them-breaking out this thread (Forum rules still apply here).

For those of you who don't know much about the series, Ouendan - which is a shortened name--by fans--of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (name translates to something along the lines of "Hey! Fight! Cheer Squad") - is a rhythm game that was created by Nintendo and Inis. The gameplay for the series is pretty simple, for the most part; it involves tapping beat markers, using sliders, and/or using spin markers to specific parts of a song, unlike other rhythm games that most of you guys know. Some of you guys probably might have played the computer-downloaded fan version-itself being called Osu, which also has the same gaming mechanics-,may have noticed videos of the games on Youtube (which is, probably, very common (weather it be some cameos of the series in some Let's Plays, in some random videos and parody vids, or even cosplay videos)), or noticed fanart for the series while browsing Deviantart from time to time. As for a set "plot" to the series, there really isn't much of one; instead, there are individual plots for each episode. Each one, though, starts out pretty similar; they start out by introducing the character in need of help, what their trouble is, and having them shout for help and, in EBA's case, the characters being dispatched to the scene-just adding it in for consideration. (the reason I say only "much of one" instead of adding an "at all" at the end of it is because the last episode pretty much throws in a major "plot twist" in which the Ouendan or the EBA have to save the world from chaos)
To make this long explanation shorter, here's a few Youtube videos involving the games (Warning: These videos may contain actual scenes from the games, and may include spoilers for those who didn't reach certain episodes yet):
(Trust me, most of the series really doesn't make any sense...)
(Disclaimers: My Youtube account is not one of the ones listed here (It's AuroraTheNightmaren, just so you guys know), therefore these videos are not mine nor do I claim that they are; they belong to their respective owners, and neither I nor the Youtubers whose videos are shown here do not own Ouendan or EBA, both belong to Nintendo and Inis)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH5PD1EGz0s (Ouendan 2 final episode part 2 multi screen; the song is "Sekai wa Sore wo Ai to Yobundaze" (the song's translation means "That's What the World Calls Love") (summary of plot of episode: see hidden black lettering in above explanation))
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYmMZsoSaSg (Elite Beat Agents Episode 2; the song is "Makes no Difference" (summary of plot of episode: Film maker has to create blockbuster film (or else get fired) before deadline))
(may add others later; it's really hard to find much of any EBA ones that are not too inappropriate for kids-at least 2 of the songs in the game are major examples, plus some of the characters' dance moves during a few of the songs are, well, awkward to say the least)

I recently ran into the series when I went pawn shopping-or pawn shop hunting, however you guys say it-with my parents one day. I happened to have came across an Elite Beat Agents game cartridge in one of said pawn shops, and was hooked almost instantly. All I have to say is that getting past the last episode on Hard (Sweatin') mode was not easy at all - took me about 50 or so tries to get past the whole stage - and that I fail on Insane (Hard Rock) mode. XD I kind of found out about Ouendan a short time afterward while I was on Deviantart, and, long story short, I guess you could say that curiosity got the better of me (again -_-).

Edit: I forgot to mention that Elite Beat Agents had won several gaming awards in 2006, and actually beat Guitar Hero II in the award for the best use of a copyrighted soundtrack. Also, for those of you who play Super Smash Brothers Brawl, the Ouendan and the Elite Beat Agents have their own trophies and appear in a few different stickers within the game (they are not playable characters or assistant trophies, though).

Maybe a little explanation of what you're talking about is in order? Not everyone knows what this is...

Oops, I forgot about that. Edited first post to include information about the series. Thanks for reminding me, Reala.

EDIT: Okay, I have a very strange, yet (possibly) very amusing "what if" crossover idea stuck in the back of my mind. Seeing as though both Ouendan (from OTO 2; the towns they're from being Asashi Town and Yuuhi Town) usually do a lot of yelling/shouting in their line of work (if that makes any sense, lol), I keep seeing Jackle and his permanetely-outside voice doing something similar (or even working with at least one of the Ouendan). Although, with that, there might be numerous outcomes to that kind of situation (most of them being hilarious).
